These ideas, tactics, and tools can be useful to companies of all sizes, but were largely battle tested at startups and growth-stage tech companies.

This advice is focused on helping you interview accurately, be efficient, have a great candidate experience, and get better outcomes.

👋 I’m Daniel O’Shea. I have 8 years of experience working in the hiring/recruiting space. I’ve made hundreds of hires (including some bad ones) over the course of my career.

My experience:

• Interviewed (YC15, acquired by Indeed in 2017) - work samples, assessments and hiring funnel automation. Over a billion assessments have been completed on the product since the acquisition.
• Laskie (founded 2021, acquired by X/Twitter in 2023) - matching platform for tech hiring that also offered full-stack recruiting services. We helped hundreds of companies hire for all sorts of roles, but mostly engineering. Our team is currently working on adding hiring features to X.
